Fundamental Duties
At Evans Matriculation Higher Secondary School, we strongly believe that education is not only about acquiring knowledge but also about understanding one’s responsibilities as a citizen of India. We aim to instill in our students the constitutional values and duties that shape them into responsible members of society.
The Fundamental Duties of every citizen of India include:
- To abide by the Constitution and respect its ideals, the National Flag, and the National Anthem
- To cherish and follow the noble ideals that inspired our freedom struggle.
- To uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of India.
- To defend the country and render national service when required.
- To promote harmony, brotherhood, and respect for diversity, while renouncing practices derogatory to the dignity of women.
- To value and preserve the rich heritage of our culture.
- To protect and improve the natural environment including forests, rivers, lakes, wildlife, and to show compassion for living beings
- To develop scientific temper, humanism, and the spirit of inquiry and reform.
- To safeguard public property and abjure violence.
- To strive for excellence in all spheres of life so that the nation constantly rises to higher levels of achievement.
By learning and practicing these duties, our students are guided to become disciplined, compassionate, and service-oriented individuals.
School Pledge

“Jai Hind” – our pledge concludes with a promise to serve our nation with pride and dignity.
Note: On every Monday, the National Pledge is recited in place of the School Pledge to reinforce patriotism and national values among our students.
