General Admission Policy

Admission at Evans Matriculation Higher Secondary School are open to all children, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion, provided they meet the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Code of Regulations for Matriculation Schools. Admission is granted purely on merit, subject to seat availability and the discretion of the Principal.

Age Criteria for KG Admission

  • Pre-KG: 2 ½ years as on 31st July
  • L.K.G.: 3+ years as on 31st July
  • U.K.G.: 4+ years as on 31st July

  • ✔️ Applications for L.K.G. are issued in the first week of January every year.
  • ✔️ All details in the application form must be filled in carefully and submitted within seven days of issue.
  • ✔️ The following documents (photocopies) must be attached with the application form:
    Birth Certificate
    Community Certificate
  • ✔️ A written/oral test may be conducted at the school’s discretion.
  • ✔️ Admission can be refused if the applicant is underaged or overaged for the class sought.
  • ✔️ All fees prescribed by the school must be paid in full at the time of admission.

Selection to Std XI & XII is purely on merit and as per the eligibility conditions laid down by the Department of Education, Government of Tamil Nadu. Applicants must produce the following documents (original + photocopy):

  • ✔️ SSLC Marksheet
  • ✔️ Transfer Certificate
  • ✔️ Conduct Certificate
  • ✔️ Community Certificate

  • ✔️ Group I: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
  • ✔️ Group II: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science
  • ✔️ Group III: Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry
  • ✔️ Group IV: Economics, Computer Science, Commerce, Accountancy
  • ✔️ Group V: Economics, Business Mathematics, Commerce, Accountancy

  • ✔️ Application for leaving certificate shall be made in writing by the parent or guardian.
  • ✔️ No leaving certificate is given until all dues to the school have been paid in full.
  • ✔️ A full month’s notice must be given before withdrawal; otherwise fees for the full month will be charged.
  • ✔️ Such notice must be given in writing by the parent.
  • ✔️ Transfer Certificates will be issued only two days after receipt of application.

  • ✔️ Admission is open to all pupils.
  • ✔️ Make sure your child fulfils the age requirement.
  • ✔️ The ideal age for admission to L.K.G is 3.5 – 4.5 years, and to Standard I is 5 – 6 years as on 31st May.
  • ✔️ A pupil joining the school must produce satisfactory evidence of date of birth — such as an extract from the Municipal or Village records, or a copy of the Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths. (Panchayat / Municipality / Corporation) is compulsory at the time of admission to Class I.
  • ✔️ No admission is complete until the birth certificate is handed over to the school authorities.
  • ✔️ No pupil will be admitted without a Transfer Certificate from the last school attended. In no case shall a student be permitted to attend class pending formal admission

  • ✔️ Birth Certificate (proof of Date of Birth)
  • ✔️ Medical Certificate (Physical Fitness)
  • ✔️ Original T.C. from the school last attended
  • ✔️ Original Report Card of previous class (Std I onwards)
  • ✔️ One recent passport-size colour photograph of the candidate
